FIELD: measurement.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to research of quality indicators of materials and articles, and namely to determination of tightness of insulating breathing apparatuses (IBA) with replaceable regenerative cartridges on chemically bound oxygen as per indicator of coefficient of permeability of oil fog. Essence of the proposed method consists in providing the required amount of cleaned air inside the system - breathing bag - front part depending on physiological functions of user's breath. Said dependence is carried out by supplying cleaned air by means of a pressure device, the operation of which is controlled by sensors.

EFFECT: disclosed method enables to estimate the entire IBA in an oil mist atmosphere and determine the value of the permeability coefficient in digital expression.
