FIELD: woodworking industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to woodworking industry, in particular, to band-sawing machines for lengthwise sawing of timber. Band saw for lengthwise sawing of timber comprises saw unit, frame and clamping mechanism. Device is equipped with base with two arched levers (1, 2) pivotally mounted on it. Bearing assemblies (12) are mounted on arched levers to accommodate stepped pulleys representing set of automotive rubber tires of larger diameter (14) and smaller diameter (16) fitted on discs. Step-type pulley bearing assembly is connected by means of belt gear (19), bevel gear speed reducer (11) and cardan gear with vehicle power unit. Tensioning device in the form of turnbuckle is installed between arched levers. Railways (22) are installed at the bottom at the center of the frame in transverse direction, on which there is loading trolley (24) with fixing (25) and lifting (26) mechanisms for assortment (27).

EFFECT: simplified design and increased mobility of band-sawing machine.
