FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: horizontal band machine has sawing mechanism movable along timber material, timber material tilting, clamping and retracting mechanisms. Supporting surfaces for placing and discharge of timber material are equipped with series switched devices for moving in vertical plane and rocking of timber material for retracting it above machine surface. Tilting mechanism is made in the form of pivotal claw-shaped head placed in W-shaped casing. Retraction mechanism is made in the form of traverse chain conveyor equipped with encircling four-link parallelogram-type mechanism. Such construction allows timber to be separated from lumber in processing zone, discharged and thrown beyond machine without damaging processed surfaces.
