SUBSTANCE: device for controlling operating data and/or for determining cable (1) wear state when used in lifting mechanisms, in particular cranes, comprises measuring accessory (2) for measuring at least one wear characteristic of rope use characteristic, as well as data memory (5) for memorizing the cable usage characteristic and/or working characteristic derived therefrom. Data memory (5) is integrated into rope (1). Device has reading and/or writing unit (4) connected to measurement device (2) for data input into memory (5) with cable (1) mounted on hoisting mechanism.
EFFECT: possibility of reliable and accurate determination of cable wear state.
