ADAPTIVE SHOCK ABSORBER WITH AUTOMATIC CONTROL OF ROD POSITION Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC F16F9/16 B60G17/08

Abstract RU 2729858 C1

FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, particularly to adaptive damper, and can be used in vehicle suspensions. Adaptive damper comprises concentrically arranged outer cylinder, closed from above by cover, and working cylinder, which is fixed from above on guide rod, connected with piston, movably arranged in working cylinder. From below working cylinder rests on outer cylinder to form annular cavity. Piston comprises stretching valve throttle, expansion valve and bypass compression valve. Throttling hole of compression valve, compression valve and overflow expansion valve are arranged in working cylinder base. At that, in the lower part of the working cylinder in the diametrical cross-section, the process orifices are made at the distance L = A1-A from the piston static position, where L is the distance from the static position P of the piston corresponding to the condition of the fully loaded vehicle to its position P3, when the lower edge of the piston reaches the position of the upper edge of the process throttle opening, mm; A is the distance from position P1, which occupies the upper end of the piston at the upper end position of the piston during operation of the shock-absorber, to position P of the piston, mm; A1 is the distance from position P1 to its position P3, when the lower edge of the piston reaches the position of the upper edge of the process throttle opening, mm.

EFFECT: disclosed invention provides higher reliability of the shock absorber, by eliminating the phenomenon of its breakdown when the vehicle passes through the irregularities at a sufficiently high speed, higher stability of damper performance parameters, higher controllability and safety of vehicle motion due to exclusion of wheel detachment from road surface when car passes over irregularities at sufficiently high speed.
