FIELD: transport engineering; car suspensions. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in hydraulic and hydropneumatic shock absorbers of cars. Proposed shock absorber has operating cylinder and external reservoir for working fluid, piston with rod, bypass valve and rebound valve. Additional piston with through axial calibrated hole and flexible ring on upper end face is installed in rodless space of operating cylinder. Rebound piston is installed for axial displacement in rod space of operating cylinder. Upper part of rebound piston engages with bushing installed for travel relative to rod through conical telescopic spring. Inner conical surface is made in lower part of rebound piston. Angle of generatrix of piston inner conical surface is equal to angle of generatrix of outer conical surface of bushing pointed to piston inner conical surface. Bushing is secured on rod between operating piston and rebound piston and is provided with through calibrated grooves along indicated conical surface. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities. 3 dwg
