SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture. Disclosed is a method for recycling a hydroponic substrate based on coconut fiber, involving washing the substrate with running water, disinfecting, removing water and drying the substrate. Substrate used is coconut fiber, it is milled together with the root system from previous growth of plants and mixed in running water. Decontamination is carried out by ozone and ultraviolet in water flow, water is removed by squeezing. Microwave drying at 60–100 °C till moisture content is 14–16 %, substrate disinfection is controlled and its briquetting is performed.

EFFECT: invention improves the quality of disinfection with simultaneous improvement of the coconut substrate structure.
