Data exchange system for autonomous vehicle comprises data exchange system with base station and control system. Control system is connected to data exchange system with possibility of data exchange. Control system comprises a processor. Control system processor configured to receive control commands from a base station, performing control commands for autonomous vehicle control and execution of delay protocol between controller and vehicle subsystems to determine data communication delay between vehicle controller and vehicle subsystems and for autonomous vehicle stopping, if communication delay exceeds user-specified delay value. Vehicle controller and vehicle subsystem are arranged in self-contained vehicle.

EFFECT: improved safety of controlling an autonomous vehicle.
