METHOD FOR DETECTING A PULSED RADIO SIGNAL IN FAST FADING CONDITIONS AGAINST A BACKGROUND OF WHITE NOISE Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC G01S7/292 H04B1/10

Abstract RU 2730181 C1

FIELD: receiving radio pulses.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technique of receiving (detecting) pulsed radio signals under conditions of fast fading and white noise and can be used in apparatus for receiving discrete information, as well as in radar and radio navigation. According to the method, a matched filtering of the radio signal and linear detection of its envelope are performed with subsequent threshold decision on its presence or absence according to the selected criterion. Matched filter is locally matched with half the duration of the input radio signal which does not exceed the fading correlation time. According to the envelope of the output signal-interfering implementation of the locally matched filter, at the moments of the expected maximum signal value, two uncorrelated voltage readings are taken through a time interval equal to half the duration of the input radio signal. Value of each reading is compared to the value of the threshold voltage in the corresponding threshold devices determined by the given probability of false alarm. Final decision on the presence or absence of the signal is made on the basis of the corresponding particular solutions according to the rule: a signal is detected if at least at the output of one of the threshold devices it is detected.

EFFECT: high noise-immunity (reliability) of detecting a pulsed radio signal on a white noise background in fast fading conditions with constant energy and frequency-time resources of the communication channel.
