FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: main detection channel is formed, comprising matched filtration of a signal with threshold decision making on its presence or absence according to a selected criterion. Two additional detection channels are formed, in which time instants τi, i=1,2 for reference readings are determined from the initial signal S(t) and the given model of frequency-selective distortions H(ω,t). Total values of the residual signal and noise Usn(τi) at the output of the matched filter are measured in these readings and correlation coefficients r(τi) thereof are calculated. For known power of output noise Pn of the matched filter and given false alarm probability Pf, the decision threshold values are calculated using the formula where Φ-1(·) is a function which is inverse to the probability interval. Said threshold values are set in additional detection channels. The resultant decision on the presence or absence of a signal is taken based on partial decisions on the main and additional channels according to the rule: a signal is detected if it is recorded in at least one of the partial channels.
EFFECT: high reliability of detecting a pulsed signal on the background of white noise under conditions of frequency-selective distortions with invariable energy and frequency-time resources of the communication channel.
