SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of separating a liquid/liquid emulsion by applying at least one time-dependent electric field. Electric field is a single AC field with electric field intensity 2000–100000 V/m and frequency 10000–200000 Hz. Method is implemented in the device including at least one vessel with at least one module. Along the wall of at least one module there is at least one first electrode. At least one second electrode is located inside at least one module of the vessel.
EFFECT: high degree of separation in a short residence time.
