FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hand-held pulsed laser device (1) for surface cleaning (100) and surface laser cleaning method. Device comprises laser source (10), a focal distance regulator (30) and beam deflector (40). Laser source is configured to emit a pulsed laser beam (20). Focal distance control is configured to change the focal length of the beam. Beam deflector comprises at least one movable mirror (42), by means of which the beam deflects, and is configured to deflect the beam for beam scanning along the surface. At least one sensor (50) is configured to provide a sensor signal which is a parameter related to the surface characteristic. Control unit (60) is configured to control, based on the sensor signal, the beam deflector for beam scanning along the surface by at least two-dimensional scheme.
EFFECT: technical result consists in prevention of damage to surface under layer of contamination due to accurate control of laser energy density on surface, for example, amount of laser energy per unit area, since when maintaining this energy density below a certain threshold value and propagation of energy on the entire surface to be cleaned, only the upper surface contamination layer will be exposed.
