FIELD: measuring devices.

SUBSTANCE: in particular, consideration is given to a new method and design of a device for monitoring the quality of water and air. Method and system for detecting foreign particles in liquid include transmission of pulses of radiation by means of a transmitter to a liquid pipeline, which is filled with liquid; wherein transmitted pulses are pulses which differ from each other, being associated with absorption frequencies of different foreign particles; receiver reception of received pulses, which propagated through the liquid as a result of transmitting multiple pulses transmitted; comparison between transmitted pulses and received pulses to obtain a comparison result; and determining fluid contamination based on the comparison result.

EFFECT: technical result is increase of accuracy.
