FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to copolymers of isoolefin and multiolefin and methods for preparing them, including a diluent of tetrafluorinated propene. Described is a copolymer for producing rubber, which contains at least one isoolefin monomer and at least one multiolefin monomer. Copolymer is obtained via polymerisation in a diluent containing tetrafluorinated propene. Copolymer has higher content of multi-olefin monomer and one or more polymer chains with higher molecular weight, narrower distribution of molecular weight, less than cyclic oligomeric by-products, lower ratio C21/C13 cyclic oligomers and lower content of isoprenoid structures than the polymer having the same isoolefin monomer and multiolefin monomer and/or β-pinene monomer obtained in the slurry process of producing butyl rubber using 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane as a diluent.
EFFECT: copolymer provides low levels of cyclic oligomers, low levels of isoprenoid structures and/or high levels of isoprene.
