FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to determine concentration of impurities contained in air. Disclosed is a method of increasing concentration of impurities contained in air by deposition thereof on a sorbent, by pumping a large volume of a sample through it and further thermal desorption, is applicable for automatic operation of gas analyzers. In particular, the method is suitable for detecting low concentrations of toxic agent vapors, i.e. about 1 Workplace Exposure Limit, such as lewisite and mustard. It differs from other versions in the mode of circulation of air flows and methods for thermal desorption, namely heating directly of air pumped through the sorbent. In order to implement this method, a device is proposed, which is a glass tube, inside which there is a fixed sorbent layer and a heating coil. Sorbent is held on both sides with glass wool layer. Directions of air pumping during sampling and thermal desorption are opposite to increase efficiency of desorption.

EFFECT: technical result is possibility to realize automatic operation of gas analyzer.
