FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves taking a samples of the analysed air, dividing the air sample into two streams and carrying out analytical operations in each stream. In the first stream, content of a target impurity is measured using a detector sensitive to the given impurity, and the second stream is taken to a solid-phase catalyst, where the target impurity undergoes conversion into its conversion product. Content of the product is then measured using a detector sensitive to the product of catalytic conversion of the target impurity. Signals from both detectors are picked up and simultaneous appearance of signals from both detectors indicates presence of the target impurity in the air.
EFFECT: increased selectivity of analysis, reduced loss and simplification of the method.
