FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in impact devices with reciprocating movement of working member. Internal combustion engine for impact tools comprises cylindrical housing (1) with cover (2) and bottom (3), main piston (4) and piston-striker (7) which is spring-loaded in axial direction are arranged in housing (1). Combustion chamber (8) is located under housing cover (2). Main under-piston cavity (9) is located between main piston (4) and hammer piston (7). Additional under-piston cavity is formed by second end of hammer piston (7) and bottom (3) with return spring (6) installed in additional under-piston cavity and working tool shank (11). In cylindrical housing (1) there are blowing and bypass channels (12) and (13), control unit (14), accumulator (15), ignition system, fuel system and electric generator. Cylindrical housing (1) and main piston (4) are made of magnetic material. Annular cores of electric generator are double-tee. Permanent magnets are made annular, located on both sides of cores and envelope main piston (4). Annular grooves filled with non-magnetic material are made on main piston (4).

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of reliability and wear resistance of engine.
