FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to transmission systems for locomotives. Disclosed is wheel-motor unit of locomotive, consisting of traction motor, mounted on axle of wheel pair by means of motor-axial bearings with covers, and kinematically connected to it by gear transmission. At the same time on external end surfaces of covers of motor-axial bearings a cross-piece is rigidly fixed, on which a pneumatic cylinder is installed. Pneumatic cylinder rod is equipped with brake friction pad in contact with wheel pair axis. At that, the piston of the rod is spring-loaded by a helical compression spring relative to the housing of the above pneumatic cylinder located in its above-piston cavity, and its under-piston cavity is connected via a pipeline to the spare reservoir of the locomotive brake system.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of locomotive braking system reliability.
