FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medicine, namely to a device and method for treating varus deformities in the knee joint in children. Device includes a belt and elastic tie-rods, helically arranged on extremities. Belt is made of soft tissue as to the circumference of the lumbar region of the child; it is reinforced with a sealant, stitched and equipped with wide Velcro fastener along the spinal column. Upper free ends of elastic tie rods made of elastic band are secured at belt in area of greater trochanter with the help of Velcro fastener. Lower ends of tie-rods at the level of head V of metatarsal bone by means of plates installed perpendicular to lengthwise axis of foot, are attached by screws to external side surfaces of shoe heels with high back. In the heel of the foot there are wedge-shaped set of heel pads facing inwards. Method involves stage distressing of the shin. Device is put on top of light clothing for the period of the child's active state. Belt is fastened on loin by means of Velcro fastener. Shoes are put on, the strips of which are attached with elastic rods. Tie rods are passed between legs and fastened on the belt with Velcro fasteners in the area of greater trochanter, performing one turn around the extremity. Every two weeks, the position of the calcaneous foot is changed to increase the height of the wedge-shaped set of heel pads by 1.5 mm and simultaneously exert a rotary action on the anterior foot using elastic rods.

EFFECT: higher clinical effectiveness while simplifying the design of the device.
