FIELD: measurement.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurements and can be used for investigation of change of mechanical characteristics of metals and alloys, after plastic or thermal hardening, by method of indenter introduction in form of four-sided pyramid at static load. To realize the invention, there are used thin sections prepared from non-reinforced and hardened materials for the indentation zone, an indentation mechanism, an indenter in the form of a tetrahedral pyramid and a means of measuring the impression. Method comprises successive introduction of tetrahedral pyramid into surface of thin sections of non-reinforced and hardened materials with static load of fixed value, measurement of geometric parameters of prints on a section of non-reinforced and hardened materials and determination of resistance of deformation of hardened material as per the proposed formula. Strengthened material reinforced column is prepared for cross-section, in which it is required to determine resistance of deformation. Introduction is carried out by four-sided pyramid with identical test load for non-strengthened and strengthened materials.
EFFECT: technical result consists in reduction of labor input and improvement of accuracy of method, broader functional capabilities of the method and field of application thereof.
