SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an air cooling device and to a method for cooling air in rooms, in particular in storage rooms accessible to passage or refrigerating chambers. Device for cooling indoor air comprises housing with bottom, cover, made with possibility of direct attachment without clearance to ceiling of room to be cooled, and side wall, in which air outlet installed in housing is located, made a flat and substantially horizontally located heat transfer device, and installed in the housing a fan for suction of ambient air from the room to be cooled, wherein there is possibility of flow of air sucked by fan in fact in vertical direction through flat heat-transfer device and its deviation by fan in horizontal direction to air outlet, wherein fan and air outlet are located above heat transfer device.

EFFECT: this eliminates drip-off of condensation water and accumulation of dust and dirt on upper surface of cooling devices, wherein device is made with possibility of compact installation, in particular, has minimum possible height.
