FIELD: fuel industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention describes an oil-in-water emulsion for use as a fuel which contains an oil phase and an aqueous phase, at least one primary surfactant, selected from one or more substances of a group consisting of fatty alkyl amines, ethoxylated fatty alkylamines, ethoxylated fatty alkyl monoamines, methylated fatty alkyl monoamines, methylated fatty alkylamines and quaternary fatty alkylamines; in range from more than 0.3 to 2.0 wt % of secondary surfactant selected from one or more ligninamines; and one or more organic acids; where the oil phase is dispersed in the aqueous phase and where the oil-in-water emulsion has the following characteristics: average droplet size (D[4.3]) in range of 3 to 15 mcm, where the average droplet size is expressed in the form of an average value with moments by volume, determined using light scattering techniques; less than 3 % of drops weight has particle size greater than 125 mcm, where drops size is determined using light scattering techniques; and viscosity higher than 100 and up to 700 MPa·s at 50 °C±10 % and 20 s−1±10 %, where viscosity is determined using a viscometer with coaxial cylinders. Also disclosed is a marine fuel composition based on the disclosed emulsion and a method of producing said emulsion.

EFFECT: technical result consists in obtaining oil-in-water emulsions having high static and dynamic stability.
