FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fluid and gas mechanics, namely to method of reduction of front resistance of round structures, such as: cylindrical wires, gas pipelines, oil pipelines, bridge supports, landing gear rails and wing wings struts, posts of wind-driven power plants, various towers or vertical pipes. Invention proposes the following arrangement: the meridian angle of installation of the plate changes in the range θ1=[35; 45] deg, angle of attack varies in range δ1=[-15; -25] deg. Also disclosed is an arrangement: the meridian angle of installation of the plate varies in range θ1=±40 deg, angle of attack varies in range δ1=±[15; 25] deg. Front plates are located symmetrically relative to horizontal plane of symmetry of cylinder. According to the third version, the following layout is proposed: meridian angle of front plates installation varies in range θ1=±40 deg, angle of attack of front plates varies in range δ1=±20 deg, meridian angle of installation of rear plates varies in range θ1=±140 deg, rear plates attack angle varies in range δ2=[20; 25] deg. Front and rear plates are located symmetrically relative to cylinder symmetry plane of symmetry.
EFFECT: reduction of front resistance of structure of bodies, which have round shape in cross section, due to installation of additional flat deflectors of flow.
