FIELD: shipbuilding.
SUBSTANCE: hydrodynamic duct is arranged with centre of low pressure (1c) corresponding to a zero angle of attack onto horizontal wall portion (1) being located in region of generation of first bow wave and with centres of low pressure (2c, 3c) of lateral wall portions (2, 3) in region of connection thereof with horizontal wall portion (1) being located in a selected position between centre of low pressure (1c) and up to or slightly forwardly leading edge (1a) of horizontal wall portion (1).
EFFECT: disclosed is a hydrodynamic duct mounted at bow of a vessel, comprising a horizontal wall portion (1) and two lateral wall portions (2 and 3), whereby flow through duct acquires substantially different characteristics from flow outside it and thereby wave making and frictional resistances are reduced and fuel conventionally required for propulsion of vessel is reduced accordingly.
