FIELD: chemical industry; paint and lacquer industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in making coatings for furniture, automobiles, aircraft, marine vehicles, architectural components or garments. Liquid composition for producing a reflective coating contains visible reflective particles of diamond, for example, natural, with maximum measurement of 35–175 mcm and binder, which when drying the liquid composition is transparent, preferably colorless. Ratio of weight of diamond particles and binder (5–15):100. To obtain a reflective coating, said composition is deposited on a substrate and allowed to dry or dried. On the obtained reflecting coating one can additionally apply a similar composition, in which maximum measurement of all diamond particles is less than maximum measurement of all diamond particles in first composition or exceeds it. Protective layer can then be applied. Substrate can be transparent, for example, glass, or opaque, preferably black. Composition can be applied onto the substrate by spraying using an airbrush. Obtained reflecting coating contains 20–40 g of diamond particles per square meter of the substrate.

EFFECT: invention provides desired appearance of coating, its strength and stability, ease of its application, as well as possibility of regeneration of diamond particles.
