SUBSTANCE: invention relates to accelerating equipment, namely to accelerators designed to convert energy of accelerated electrons into energy of X-ray radiation in pulsed X-ray complexes, which enable to multi-frame recording of fast processes. Method of generating X-ray radiation for multi-frame pulse X-ray diffraction involves irradiating the side surface of a rod target at a small angle to the target axis of a refractory material with a length which is considerably greater than the range of accelerated electrons in the target material by a uniformly distributed beam of accelerated electrons.

EFFECT: technical result is reduction of specific energy release in target material.
