To this end, the base station comprises a configuration unit configured to configure a transmission signal shape used by the user equipment (UE) for uplink transmission, and a sending unit configured to send information relating to the configuration to the UE. Configuration unit is configured to configure using any of the following methods: physical layer signaling, random access control (RAR) response message (RAR) and radio resource control (RRC) signaling. Also disclosed are user equipment (UE) and corresponding method.
