FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and can be used in melting steels in basic open-hearth furnaces by scrap-process, including steels for car casting. Charge contains, wt%: conversion pig iron and scrap iron 34.0–40.0, steel scrap 60.0–66.0, carb in excess of 100 % 0.5–1.0, wherein as carb it contains slag-coal-graphite flux fraction 10–100 mm, containing, wt%: carbon 50.0–65.0, sulfur not more than 1, flux component based on dump open-hearth slag – the rest.
EFFECT: invention increases recovery of carbon from carb, reduces harmful emissions into atmosphere, improves quality of metal, including for car casts, and improves technical and economic indices of melting.
