SUBSTANCE: burden comprises, wt%: conversion pig iron and cast iron scrap 22.0-27.0; steel scrap 73.0-78.0; carbonizers (above 100%) 2.7-4.2. Carbonizers are coal and aluminum electrolyzer carbon lining calcines used in the ratio of 2:1. EFFECT: reduced charging and melting time, improved assimilation of carbon by liquid metal from burden material, reduced sulfur content in metal upon melting of burden comprising carbonizer, increased efficiency of furnace and reduced metal discard. 1 tbl, 1 ex
