FIELD: radar ranging.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radar ranging and can be used in systems of sum-difference monopulse radar ranging. Method for increasing accuracy of determining target bearing angle while maintaining antenna interchangeability in the monopulse radar system, the target bearing angle at the stage of operation of the monopulse radar system is determined as the value of a power polynomial in the form of which the direction-finding characteristic of the monopulse radar system antenna is presented. Argument of the power polynomial when determining target bearing is the ratio of signals from the target on the "total" and "differential" outputs of the antenna. Power polynomial coefficients are determined during production of a specific antenna based on measurement results of its parameters after manufacture, stored in an antenna, are read out from antenna and used in calculation of target bearing angle by digital computer of monopulse radar system during system operation.
EFFECT: technical result, on which the claimed invention is aimed, consists in reduction of error when determining bearing angle with simplification and cost-cutting of antenna production due to possibility of expansion of tolerance fields on values of parameters of antenna and its nodes, as well as in providing interchangeability of the antenna from the monopulse radar system while maintaining the required accuracy of determining the target bearing angle.
