FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to thermal treatment of welded joints of titanium alloy PT-48, made by argon-arc welding. Method for heat treatment of welded joints of titanium alloy PT-48 includes heating to aging temperature of 570–590 °C in an electric furnace, holding for 6–8 hours and cooling at rate of 2–5 °C/min.

EFFECT: use of the proposed method of heat treatment after welding increases temporary resistance of welded joints of titanium alloy to 1,163 MPa at preservation of mechanical properties of pre-thermally hardened basic metal.
