SUBSTANCE: invention refers to psychology and can be used to obtain objective data on an individual's emotional state and on the dynamics of his emotional state. Disclosed is a method according to which N (N > 2) reference points of a person forming a cluster of reference points are selected, fixing in the projection on the two-dimensional plane the trajectory of movement of each reference point of the cluster, fixing the coordinates of the middle point of the cluster and forming a signal equal to the total distance between the middle point of the cluster and all of its reference points, generating a signal proportional to second derivatives of change of coordinates of reference points of cluster and central point of cluster, as well as value of sum of squares of difference of second derivatives of change of coordinates of reference points of cluster from change of coordinates of middle point of cluster and by exceeding the current value of said signal of a given threshold value, determining presence and intensity of the process of transitioning from one emotional state to another, and ascending or decreasing value of total distance of reference points of cluster and its middle point is judged, respectively, on increase or decrease of emotional stress.
EFFECT: invention provides wider field of application of the method by enabling to determine the fact of change of emotional stress and direction of this change - increasing emotional stress or reduction.
