FIELD: smoking accessories.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a smoking article comprising aerogel which can optionally be impregnated with a metal catalytic compound or optionally be coated with at least one aerosol-forming material and a flavoring agent. Smoking article comprises different segments, such as segment of heat release, segment of aerosol generation and end placed in mouth. Aerogel can be placed nearby or inside any of said segments.
EFFECT: presence of aerogel can reduce concentration of certain gaseous components in mainstream smoke, formed when using a smoking article, comprising a heat release segment comprising a fuel cell.
