SUBSTANCE: element in the form of an aerosol source. The aerosol source element comprises a substrate portion that includes a substrate material configured to generate a primary respirable substance upon application of heat thereto, the substrate portion forming an outer surface, and an outer wrapping material configured to surround said outer surface of the substrate portion, the outer wrapping material comprising a plurality of layers, wherein at least one of the layers of the outer wrapping material comprises an aerosol generating component. At the same time, the outer wrapping material contains a three-layer layered material, which includes an outer layer, an inner layer located near the outer surface of the substrate material, and an intermediate layer located between the outer layer and the inner layer.

EFFECT: providing the feeling of smoking cigarettes, cigars or smoking pipes without burning the substrate material and due to improved performance characteristics.
