FIELD: oil and gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of proppants for use as proppants when producing oil or gas by hydraulic fracturing. Magnesium silicate proppant is obtained from dunite—natural raw material, grinding is carried out in three stages: two dry and one wet with subsequent drying, followed by preliminary annealing of dunite at temperature of 850–950 °C with further granulation on water containing organic binder, consisting of 0.5–2.0 wt % carboxymethyl cellulose and 3–5 wt % sodium tripolyphosphate, drying and screening dried granules to obtain granulate fraction 1.2–1.4 mm. Further, obtained granulate is calcined at temperature of 1250–1400 °C for 50–90 minutes, after which the obtained porous granules are cooled and coated with a polymer solution with dosage of 1.0–1.5 g of epoxy-diane polymer per 100 g of the granulate. Coating is cured by adding polyethylene polyamine in amount of 10–20 % of weight of polymer and dried by sieving the granules to obtain granulate of 1.6–1.8 mm.

EFFECT: technical result of invention is expansion of raw material base for production of proppants with high strength of proppant-raw material and reduction of dustiness of burnt proppant, which increases permeability of the proppant pack.
