FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy of non-ferrous metals, particularly, to processing of refractory gold-bearing concentrates by high-temperature autoclave oxidation. Method of processing sulphide gold-containing concentrates of double thrust includes acid treatment of concentrate, thickening to obtain pulp, feeding pulp into autoclave, autoclave oxidative leaching of pulp under oxygen pressure, cooling leached pulp by self-evaporation, conditioning thereof, dehydration and washing with further extraction of gold by sorption cyanidation of autoclave residue, wherein autoclave oxidative leaching is carried out at temperature of 190–240 °C and feeding into autoclave 25–100 kg/t of nitric acid or 30–100 kg/t of nitrate salt. Efficiency of the method is maximum if nitric acid or its salts are added to the pulp after virtually complete oxidation of sulphides.
EFFECT: use of this method increases speed and completeness of oxidation of organic carbon, as well as increases extraction of gold.
