FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to inorganic luminescent compounds based on rare-earth metals (REM), having excitation spectrum, photostimulation and luminescence in the visible and near infrared spectral ranges and which can be used as an authenticity feature in paper composition and in printing inks for imparting special properties to them, such as UV luminescence, anti-Stokes luminescence, phosphorescence, optical quenching, photostimulated luminescence and other optical effects. Inorganic luminescent compound based on elements of group III of the periodic table is characterized by luminescence of a given spectral composition in wavelength range (700–3,000) nm under the effect of exciting radiation with wavelength (700–1,600) nm and has the property of optical quenching of luminescence when exposed to stimulating radiation with length wave (100–700) nm.
EFFECT: higher content of associated complexes Me2+ – Me3+ – Me4+ at lower content of defect-forming additives Me2+ and Me4+, thereby increasing luminescence intensity.
