FIELD: data protection.
SUBSTANCE: protection against forgery of information carriers, such as valuable documents, banknotes, passports, excise stamps, in particular, using materials intended for marking these information carriers in order to reliably determine their authenticity. An information carrier is proposed that is protected from forgery, containing on its surface or in its composition a marking that includes an inorganic luminescent compound based on rare-earth metal ions, which has luminescence in the range of 400-3000 nm when excited by radiation in the wavelength range of 300-1000 nm, as well as the property of photo-initiated luminescence modulation when exposed to radiation in the range of 200-700 μm.
EFFECT: providing a high level of protection of the information carrier and ensuring subsequent control of its authenticity under circulation conditions.
