SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to rear suspension assemblies for a vehicle. Vehicle has chassis and endless drive caterpillar. Rear suspension assembly comprises a suspension arm, a pair of sliding rails, a damping unit, a rail extension assembly. Assembly of rail extension comprises elongation lever, rear tensioning wheel and displacing element. Snowmobile comprises chassis, engine, front suspension assembly, ski, caterpillar track, rear suspension assembly. According to the first version, the snowmobile includes a rail extension unit, in which the biasing element is functionally connected between the rear part of sliding rails and the extension lever. According to the second version, the snowmobile includes a rail extension assembly which rotates to the lowered position when the snowmobile moves forward at a speed higher than the predetermined position.
EFFECT: higher cross-country capacity.
