FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to mechanical engineering, in particular to snowmobiles. Snowmobile comprises a chassis, an engine, a ski, a drive track and a rear suspension assembly. Rear suspension assembly has first and second suspension arms, a pair of slide rails, a shock absorber, a pair of extension arms, a pair of rear idler wheels and a spring. Method for replacing slide rails includes disconnecting the first pair of slide rails from the lower end of the first and second suspension arms, the shock absorber and the pair of rear idler wheels; pivotally connecting the second pair of slide rails to the lower end of the first and second suspension arms; connecting the second pair of slide rails to the shock absorber; pivotally connecting the pair of extension arms to a portion of the second pair of slide rails; rotationally connecting the pair of rear idler wheels to a rear portion of the pair of extension arms; connecting the spring to the pair of extension arms; a spare set of slide rails.
EFFECT: enabling the snowmobile to move on different soil configurations.
