FIELD: biotechnology.

SUBSTANCE: invention represents a method for increasing plant resistance to ultraviolet radiation, involving transformation of plants with stilbene synthase gene, wherein the stilbene synthase gene is represented by an Amur grapes VaSTS1 gene, by transforming plants using the plasmid pZP-RCS2-nptII under the control of cauliflower virus 35s (CaMV35S) double promoter. Then, plant resistance to kanamycin is selectively selected; the selected plants are used for cultivation.

EFFECT: developed method increases plant tolerance to ultraviolet stress; in addition, said gene promotes accumulation of trans-resveratrol and trans-piceid not normally contained in arabidopsis.
