FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to UHF engineering, specifically to electron collectors, and can be widely used in multi-beam microwave devices of type O as a collector-recuperator. Collector for the microwave device contains a coaxially located hollow electrode, a magnet, a magnetic conducting screen, a magnetic pole with drift holes. Magnetic pole is made of two parts, central part is made in the form of a cup, the bottom of which with passing holes is connected to the base of the hollow electrode, and the side part is made in the form of a cup, in which bottom central cup is inserted, wherein between surfaces of central and side parts there is formed magnetic gap with thickness L, gap cross section area S and L, are determined from the following conditions: U/E<L, S≥L/(Rmz)×μ0), where U is potential of hollow electrode, E is permissible intensity of electric field in area of magnetic gap, Rmz is permissible magnetic resistance, μ0 is magnetic permeability.
EFFECT: higher current carrying capacity and efficiency of the device, including for multibeam devices, due to increased voltage of recuperation of energy of electrons in collector and reduction of heat load on collector and due to reduction of reverse current, reduced thermal load on electrodynamic system.
