FIELD: electrical communication engineering.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to communication, and in particular to a method of measuring downlink status information (CSI), a base station and a terminal device. Said result is achieved by transmitting, by a base station, to a terminal device a mode switching message for receiving a narrow frequency band instructing the terminal device to switch to a specific narrow band for receiving information. When it is necessary to measure downlink (CSI) information on a downlink, the base station schedules a serial switch of the terminal device to at least two different narrow measurement bandwidths to measure the downlink reference signal, wherein the width of the narrow frequency band and the width of at least two different narrow measurement bandwidths is less than the bandwidth of the system.
EFFECT: enabling flexible switching of a terminal device between a narrow bandwidth and a system bandwidth, which reduces power consumption of the terminal device and at the same time enables to measure downlink CSI information.
