FIELD: aviation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to monitoring of condition of building structures. Method of snow load monitoring on buildings covering with application of UAV includes stages of remote determination of average height of snow cover hs and average design density of snow taking into account its layered structure ρs in section of coating according to results of aerial photo coverage using UAV in presence and absence of snow cover. Value ρs is determined from known physical models depending on air temperature and average value of calculated snow load is determined in coating area Ps. Obtained value is compared with the design limit value of the snow load in the coating area Ps ult determined in accordance with the requirements of the valid normative documents, if condition 0.9 Ps ult ≤ Ps ≤ Ps ult is met in the corresponding section of the coating, the state preceding the moment occurrence of excessive snow load.
EFFECT: technical result is enabling improvement of accuracy of remote determination of snow cover parameters.
