FIELD: electric power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pin insulators for overhead transmission lines 10÷35 kV. Insulator consists of two composite elements (1), (2) made of tempered glass and interconnected by fastening binder. On the composite element there are internal annular ribs (4). Outer diameter of element (1) is in range of 230...300 mm, and element (2) outer diameter is in range of 170...250 mm. Element (2) is functionally used as a separate pin insulator. Selection of values of outer diameters of element (1) and element (2) is carried out by calculation based on experimental data obtained from operation of pin insulators. Size of outer diameter of both upper and lower insulating parts (1, 2) influences, first of all, the length of the path of leakage of electric current along the insulator body. Outer diameter of upper insulation part (1) is selected larger than outer diameter of lower insulation part (2) in order to fully close lower insulating part (2) and thereby ensure high purity of the whole insulator. Besides, due to use of element (2) as separate insulator, device prime cost is reduced.
EFFECT: pin plug is disclosed.
