SUBSTANCE: invention represents a method for determining productivity of farm animals by polymorphism in gene LEP 528 C/T, involving DNA recovery from blood with further genotyping of cows using a polymerase chain reaction using primers based on SNP in position 528 of exon 2 of a promoter of bovine leptin and selection of animal heterozygous C/T mothers by LEP gene.

EFFECT: invention is intended for early selection of animals in order to increase body weight in cattle populations.
