FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing antistatic polypropylene fiber with improved mechanical properties, which can be used in machine building, chemical, electrical engineering and light industry. Proposed method comprises mixing polypropylene melt and carbon nanoparticles in extruder to extrude fibers from said mixture. Mixing in extruder is carried out for 10–15 minutes at temperature of 195–205 °C. Carbon particles are used in amount of 0.3 wt % of amount of polypropylene. Extrusion is performed with cooling of mixture to room temperature and cutting of granulate with size of 2–3 mm, thereafter, monofilament is formed using a spinneret with an outlet diameter of 1 mm, which is fed to draw rolls and subjected to orientation drawing and winding on bobbins.
EFFECT: higher wear resistance of antistatic polypropylene fibers.
