POLYETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATE THREAD AND METHOD OF PRODUCTION THEREOF Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC D01F1/10

Abstract RU 2734673 C1

FIELD: textiles; chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to textile, chemical and paper industries and can be used to produce monofilaments and film threads based on polymer material polyethylene terephthalate (PET) with improved set of operational properties, in particular with high strength and wear resistance. Required technical result is achieved due to that the polyethylene terephthalate thread is modified with uniformly distributed spherical nanoparticles in amount of 1–10 wt. % SiO2 silicon dioxide with size of 7 nm or aluminium oxide Al2O3 with size of 13 nm, which are mixed with polyethylene terephthalate in an extruder at temperature 280 °C, after which polyethylene terephthalate filament is formed by its extrusion from said mixture with subsequent cooling by air and high-temperature orientation drawing with drawing coefficient of not less than 5, wherein before molten polyethylene terephthalate is pre-dried in vacuum for 5.8–6.2 hours at temperature 155–165 °C, before introduction of spherical nanoparticles for mixing with polyethylene terephthalate in extruder they are pre-dried for 0.4–0.6 hours at temperature of 110–115 °C, and mixing in an extruder is carried out in an inert medium with subsequent single-step orientation drawing of polyethylene terephthalate thread with dispersed spherical nanoparticles at temperature of 100–110 °C.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of complex of operational properties, in particular wear resistance of threads, and expansion of technical equipment by provision of possibility to produce threads with improved wear resistance.
