FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of levitation melting and a device for making casts with a ring-shaped element from electrically conducting material for casting molten charge into casting mold. In method of making casts made of electrically conductive material by means of levitation melting method, for bringing charge (1) into levitation state, electromagnetic variable fields are used, generated by at least one pair of opposite inductance coils (3) with core made of ferromagnetic material (4). At that pouring of whole charge (1) into casting mold (2) is performed by means of input of ring-shaped element (7) made of electroconductive material into area of electromagnetic alternating field between coils (3) of inductance.

EFFECT: higher efficiency.
