FIELD: electrical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: multi-stage linear electromagnetic accelerator comprises ferromagnetic propulsive body with possibility of its sliding along inner surface of cylindrical nonmagnetic barrel, serially arranged on non-magnetic shaft with constant pitch and coaxially fixed coils of traction solenoids and position sensors of thrown body. Accelerator also comprises switching devices of traction solenoids with their control device and capacitor energy source. Ratio of length of thrown body to length of pair of coils is more than two.
EFFECT: technical result is higher efficiency of using entire length of cylindrical non-magnetic barrel, increased final speed of thrown body at accelerator output, reduced accuracy requirements in the control device signal supply with switching devices at coils disconnection.
